Youth Vote Block Party

This spring, hundreds of Allegheny County teens became eligible to cast their first-ever votes! With support from our coalition, student ambassadors have spent the past month planning and running voter registration drives in their communities to reach these peers. But registration is just the first step—it’s tremendously important that young people then turn out to vote. The sooner they do, the more likely it is that voting becomes a lifelong habit.

That’s why the AYVC is hosting our inaugural Youth Vote Block Party! To turn voting into a celebration, and engage young people with programming that centers their interests. Students across the county are invited to Downtown Pittsburgh on Thursday, April 30 for a day of live music, food trucks, lawn games, trivia prizes and photo booths!

In partnership with our county elections office, teens will be able to vote early and have support casting their ballot. Lead teachers at all participating high schools will accompany their students to and from the event.

This event wouldn’t be possible without our coalition organizations, generous sponsors, and volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering the day of the block party, we would love to have you! Click or scan the QR code on the flyer to sign up!
